Northern Ireland has a mild, changeable maritime climate, with cool winters and pleasantly mild summers. From June to August, average daytime highs are around 17–20°C, making summer particularly enjoyable for coastal walks and exploring the countryside.
Spring and early autumn bring cooler temperatures of around 11–16°C, often with crisp, clear days between showers. Winter is generally cool, with temperatures around 3–9°C, while the landscape takes on a wonderfully atmospheric quality.
May to September is generally the best time to visit for longer days and milder weather, although Northern Ireland’s famously changeable skies are part of its character.
