More information on Halkidiki

Halkidiki is one of northern Greece’s most captivating destinations, famed for its distinctive three-pronged shape stretching into the Aegean Sea. Each peninsula offers a different experience, from lively beach resorts and family-friendly shores to tranquil coves and unspoilt landscapes.

Easily reached from Thessaloniki, Halkidiki combines natural beauty with laid-back luxury. Think pine forests rolling down to turquoise waters, traditional villages, and elegant beachfront resorts - all wrapped in a slower, more authentic Greek rhythm.

Spend your days beach-hopping along Halkidiki’s long stretches of soft sand and hidden bays. Kassandra is known for its vibrant atmosphere, beach clubs, and nightlife, while Sithonia offers quieter beaches, hiking trails, and some of the clearest waters in Greece.

For culture and calm, head to Mount Athos, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and spiritual centre of Orthodox Christianity (accessible by boat for visitors). Wine lovers can explore local vineyards, while food enthusiasts will enjoy fresh seafood, local honey, and traditional tavernas overlooking the sea.

Halkidiki enjoys a Mediterranean climate with hot, sunny summers and mild winters. From June to September, temperatures regularly reach 28–32°C, making it ideal for beach days and evening dining by the water.

Spring and early autumn are particularly appealing, with warm seas, fewer crowds, and daytime temperatures in the low to mid-20s°C. Winters are mild and quieter, perfect for enjoying the region’s natural beauty at a slower pace.
