More information on Malta

Malta, an island steeped in history and bathed by the Mediterranean sun, offers an enriching experience that appeals to every type of traveller. Its blend of ancient architecture, vibrant culture, and stunning coastal landscapes creates a timeless destination where past and present coexist harmoniously.

Valletta, the capital, stands as a living testament to the island’s storied past. Its narrow, winding streets reveal architectural treasures, from the Baroque splendour of St. John’s Co-Cathedral to the commanding presence of the Grand Master's Palace. The city’s cultural richness extends to its thriving arts scene, where local galleries and theatres showcase Malta’s creative spirit. For a stay that echoes this blend of tradition and modernity, the HOLM Boutique and Spa offers a serene retreat where comfort meets contemporary design, making it the perfect base for experiencing the island’s dynamic heart.

Beyond the city, the island's coastal beauty invites you to reflect and unwind. The crystal-clear waters of Gozo and Comino are not just stunning but have become a sanctuary for those seeking a peaceful connection to nature. Here, a stay at Palazzo Consiglia provides a unique blend of luxury and local heritage, creating a haven where the past is present in every detail.

Malta’s cultural tapestry extends to its historical sites, such as the ancient fortified city of Mdina and the sacred temples at Ħaġar Qim. Yet, the island's modern-day charm lies in its ability to blend old and new—whether through its celebrated cuisine, which showcases the freshest Mediterranean flavours, or the warmth and hospitality of its people.

In Malta, every corner holds a story, every view is a masterpiece, and every experience offers a deeper connection to a land shaped by centuries of history.

Malta is a Mediterranean gem, blending rich history, stunning landscapes, and vibrant culture. Whether exploring ancient heritage, picturesque towns, or idyllic beaches, Malta offers a diverse and unforgettable experience.

In Valletta, the Baroque capital, discover landmarks like St. John’s Co-Cathedral and the Grandmaster’s Palace, or enjoy views of the Grand Harbour from its historic bastions. Nearby, the medieval city of Mdina, known as the "Silent City," enchants with narrow streets, palaces, and panoramic vistas.

For nature enthusiasts, the Blue Lagoon on Comino and Gozo’s tranquil coves are perfect for swimming and snorkelling, while the megalithic temples of Ħaġar Qim and Mnajdra captivate history lovers. Beaches like Golden Bay offer relaxation, while Birgu’s wartime sites reveal Malta’s strategic past.

Savour local cuisine with fresh seafood, rabbit stew, and pastizzi, all reflecting Malta’s unique Mediterranean heritage. From culture to natural beauty, Malta promises an extraordinary journey.

Malta enjoys a Mediterranean climate, offering warm, sunny weather for much of the year, making it an inviting destination for travellers. Summers (June to August) are hot and dry, with temperatures ranging between 28°C and 34°C (82°F to 93°F), ideal for relaxing on golden beaches or exploring the island's crystal-clear waters.

Winter (December to February) is mild, with temperatures typically between 10°C and 16°C (50°F to 61°F). While occasional rain showers occur, the season remains pleasant and perfect for visiting Malta's historic landmarks, such as the ancient city of Mdina or the Grand Harbour in Valletta.

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) bring comfortable weather, with temperatures ranging from 17°C to 25°C (63°F to 77°F). These seasons are perfect for enjoying outdoor activities, such as walking through scenic countryside or exploring the island's remarkable UNESCO World Heritage Sites. With its sunny skies and moderate climate, Malta offers a delightful escape at any time of the year.
